How to Apply Eyeshadow

Eye shadow or eyeshadow is a cosmetic that is applied only to the eyelids that look attractive and also make the eye wearer stand out.

Eye shadow can add depth and dimension to one’s eyes, complement one’s eye colour, make one’s eyes appear larger, or simply draw attention to the eyes. Eye shadow comes in many different colours and textures. It is usually made from a powder but can also be found in liquid, pencil, cream or mousse form. Just like other trends, eyeshadow looks also have trends.

Civilizations around the world use eye shadow predominantly on females but also occasionally on males. In Western society, it is seen as a feminine cosmetic, even when used by men. In Gothic fashion, black or similarly dark-coloured eye shadow and other types of eye makeup are popular among both sexes. In India, eyeliner, called Kohl, played a prominent role in various dance forms and ceremonies such as weddings.

Many people use eye shadow simply to improve their appearance, but it is also commonly used in theatre and other plays, to create a memorable look, with bright, bold colours. Depending on skin tone and experience, the effect of eye shadow usually brings out glamour and gains attention. The use of eye shadow attempts to replicate the natural eye shadow that some women exhibit due to a natural contrasting pigmentation on their eyelids. Natural eye shadow can range anywhere from a glossy shine to one’s eyelids, to a pinkish tone, or even a silver look.

Steps to apply eyeshadow

Step 1 Prime Eyes With Concealer

When you are holding your concealer, just dab two dots with it on each lid and blend it with a markup sponge to create a perfect eyeshadow canvas. This process really allows color to pop and stay longer.

Steps 2 Apply Neutral Shadow On Crease

This second step is very simple, you will have to apply a warm, neutral-toned shadow shade and blend into the eye crease only using a fluffy eyeshadow brush.

Step 3 Apply Deeper Shadow on Outer Corners

Now the next step is to apply a deeper shadow on the outer corners of the eyes and lower lash line for a “wrapped” effect. Then you blend in well

Step 4 Apply Bright Shade to center of lids

The next step taken is to use your fluffy brush to add some nice shine and make the eye pop using a bright, shimmery eyeshadow shade right in the center of the eyelid only.

Step 5 Apply eyes with liner and mascara as the finishing step

Apply a gel pencil eyeliner in black right along the lower lash waterline and smudge slightly. Do the same with the top lash line. Finish with 2-3 coats of mascara, teasing the mascara right at the base for a full, fluffy effect.
